The Largest Human Gathering On Earth

Over ten million people were just outside my rat-infested, third-world hotel room door when I arrived at 2:30 am. Over ten million more would arrive over the next 24 hours! Only one time in every twelve years is "Kumbhar Mela" held here in Ujjain, India. This is literally the largest gathering of humanity on earth. They have come truly believing that their sins will be washed away in the sewage infested waters of this river. We have come to cast the blood-soaked Gospel net over millions who will be walking by on their way home from this horribly dark pagan festival!

Over a four-day period, we stood and preached the message of Christ for 26 hours as an estimated FIVE MILLION lost souls walked at crawling speed down the road. More than 60,000 were saved right there on site in front of us all! Millions more were illuminated by the very first clear Gospel message of salvation many of them have ever heard in their lives. Nearly three million Gospel tracts in the Hindi and Tamil languages were picked up and taken home by the masses as they passed and listened!

A Sadhu Priest invited me into his tent for tea after he heard us speak of the shed blood of Christ. He was dressed in a robe, but two other priests who sat with us were in their 50s and have been naked since birth! He told me that Christ, Allah, and Buddha are all just different and confusing names for the one true god, Shiva. He said Jesus was just somebody who must have done terrible things in His life, so his "Karma" was what brought his terrible death. He told me that he had never heard that Jesus shed His blood to wash away the sins of the world. As I told them about astonishing miracles we have witnessed, those men were shocked and affected deep in their hearts as I could feel the presence of God coming all around! They never confessed Jesus as Lord, but one thing is true - Satan could do nothing to keep the torch of truth from lighting their hearts that evening as we sat together for over four hours!

Thanks to all of our partners and friends who have helped us to leave India knowing that the Lord has made an impact that will last for eternity! We still have a lot more to do the rest of this year and we need many more people to help haul in these nets that are full and heavy. Our partners know they are involved in serious soul-winning!
